Resistant dextrin is a white to light yellow powder with a slightly sweet taste, without any specific odor and good solubility in water. Its aqueous solution is clear or light yellow, with a pH value of approximately 4.0 to 6.0. Resistant dextrin is processed from starch and is obtained by extracting and purifying the indigestible components of calcined dextrin using industrial technology. It contains more complex branched structures than raw starch, which are formed when the starch is heated and decomposed.
